Hermes-OSR certification

Hermes-OSR certificate for OSR 3 unit 5The Hermes-OSR certification corresponds to the procedure under which:
  1. the training organization, which provides an accredited Hermes-OSR training offer,
  2. delivers a written testimony (i.e. a certificate)
    • that a person has attended a training module/unit accredited under the Hermes-OSR framework,
    • and that this person successfully passed the evaluation criteria related to that module/unit as defined in the Hermes-OSR framework.

Under which conditions a certificate can be delivered?
This evaluation process is assessed by the Accreditation Committee at the proposal stage and can be controlled at any time as part of the Quality Assurance process in the Hermes-OSR labellisation (cf. The Hermes-OSR Charter).

The certificate is interesting under three aspects:
In this way the professional recognition context is brought via the multi-stakeholders dimension of the Accreditation Committee (federations of SMEs associations, FLA, international field experts in OSR and Social Auditing, Certification organisations, etc.), and is anticipating future ECVET systems which can be put in place directly in the field of Social Responsibility or in relation with Human Resources management for instance. This anticipated approach facilitates gateways with future ECVET systems in order to validate or speed-up recognition of past certificates into the new corresponding ECVET systems to come.

·      Once a training offer based on Hermes-OSR training modules has been accredited the Hermes-OSR label to a training organisation, that training organisation is entitled to deliver corresponding training certificates on an entire Module or on sub-units identified in the syllabus of the Module.

·      A clear evaluation process, and consistent across the various sessions implemented by the training organisation and its trainers, has to be implemented by the training organisation.
This evaluation process is assessed by the Accreditation Committee at the proposal stage (cf.
3.2.1.3Decisions” above) and can be controlled at any time as part of the Quality Assurance process in the Hermes-OSR labellisation (cf. The Hermes-OSR Charter).

·      Once, the certificate has been passed by the trainee, there is a need to register it centrally at Hermes-OSR level to validate it. This registration is needed to validate the certificate, to provide visibility and to ensure quality level. This registration can be done by the trainee directly, by the training organisation or by the trainer.
To be valid, the training organisation should also provide the following information on the certificate when the training session is not using the current syllabus of a module or of a sub-unit:

o   The revised syllabus on which the certificate is based.

o   The eventual process and results of validation of Prior Learning Experience of the trainees (in case of the adaptation of the content of the training taking into account prior Knowledge, Skills or Competences).

o   The eventual adapted learning path developed for a group of trainees based on a training needs analysis (TNA) which provides a new way of defining the Modules and sub-units. This adapted learning path is required to later validate the training delivered against any ECVET approach.

o   The corresponding evaluation process and its correspondence with the standard one.

·      Then, the Administrative Secretariat registers this information centrally and enables a traceability of the various certificates. The delivered certificate and summary information on the context of the certificate (Module, units, specific learning path or not ...) are then published on line, including the name of the certified trainee, the training organisation, the trainer, the modules/sub-unit and the date. In case a trainee doesn’t want to appear on the list, then he/she doesn’t need to register.
After recording these data centrally, the Administrative Secretariat can deliver paper certificate to the trainees. This certificate can be a single certificate from Hermes-OSR or a joint certificate bearing both signatures of the training organisation and of the Administrative Secretariat of Hermes-OSR label.
